1969 Seiko 5 Actus 6106-8460 Ukiyo-e dial Uemura Shōen’s “Shunbō”
“Shunbō” by Uemura Shōen
The dial features Shunbō, a work by Japanese artist Uemura Shōen, one of the pioneering female artists of modern Japanese painting during the Meiji, Taishō, and early Shōwa periods. These dials were produced in Japan around the late 1960s to early 1970s using reproductions of classic Japanese artworks. As they were not factory-produced by Seiko, they are often regarded as some of the earliest examples of Seiko modding, combining traditional Japanese art with Seiko watches in a truly distinctive way.
